"New information comes to light"

Guided exploration of data

Cluster Maps are a new way of visualising search results. Instead of a long list, sorted by relevance, you'll see a map with items, like documents, web pages, e-mails, represented as small colored spheres.

Cluster Map cut out The map gives you an overview of the relation between results sets. Every part of your question is presented as a results cluster. Say you are looking for all PDF documents on Sesame and security. In the map you will see all items grouped in several labeled clusters. Click the thumbnail for more information.

+ Pragmatic

Guided exploration is a powerful method that helps you in a very pragmatic way. Instead of an empty search box, you get a rich exploration environment that helps you defining your question. Build your question in small steps, drill down to your goal, or explore related information.

+ Index enterprise sources

Imagine that your important enterprise data sources are indexed. Aduna products give the user the possibility to express a query in terms of data properties. For example: in the author facet, the user can filter the items to items that are created by a certain author. Now the user can not only inspect the results list, but also the other facet values in this results set, like the type of documents, date and time.

Guided exploration is very useful for enterprise information management. With Aduna products you get an advanced and rich exploration facility on top of all your existing enterprise sources.

Semantic information integration and feature-rich exploration

Aduna offers a range of information access products that overcome the abundance of information silos and their IT barriers, bringing new information to light and delivering on the promise of true enterprise information management (EIM). By relating information found in enterprise sources and adding enterprise knowledge, the user gets a rich exploration environment.

Improved user experience of accessing information:

  • Help for the user to formulate or refine a question by showing meaningful options.
  • Information can be visualised in a map to give the user better overview.
  • The right amount of information: more than "Sorry, zero results" and less than "Millions of results in a split second".

Semantic integration of existing information sources:

  • Keep using your existing information sources and enrich the information with valuable enterprise knowledge
  • Future-proof by the use of open, semantic web standards.
  • Open the road to incorporate external information and knowledge sources, like vocabularies and thesauri and combine with your existing sources.

Aduna architecture Component tool stack

Aduna software, like Sesame, Cluster Map library and Aperture overlay existing information sources and infrastructure. They are fast to apply, cost-effective and low risk. Aduna and its partners deliver solutions for government, publishing, pharmaceutical, judicial and e-commerce customers.

Open standards

One key of our approach is an information integration layer based on open standards and semantic web technologies. This handles complex, heterogeneous information sources in continuously changing environments. Another key is feature-rich search and exploration components, which accommodate a wide spectrum of use cases, from straightforward enterprise search to advanced serendipitous discovery and intelligence tasks.
